Online assessment tools: insight assessment platform

Our collection of online assessment tools, all aligned to the Victorian Curriculum F-10, is found on the Insight Assessment Platform.

The platform supports high quality assessment practices and provides teachers with information they can use to target the learning needs of students as they progress along the learning continuum.

Tools on the Insight platform include:

English Online Interview (EOI) for assessing the English skills of students between Foundation and Year 2. This assessment is mandated for all Foundation students on entry to school.
Diagnostic Assessment Tools in English (DATE) for teachers to clarify or elaborate on the data obtained from the English Online Interview. DATE assesses the three modes of English and includes early literacy and monitoring progress tools designed for use with students in Foundation to Year 6.
Mathematics Online Interview (MOI) for teachers to assess the mathematical understanding of students in Foundation to Year 2.
Fractions and Decimals Online Interview (FDOI) for teachers to better understand their students' knowledge, skills and behaviours with regard to fractions and decimals. For use with students in years 5-10.
Tools for Enhancing Assessment Literacy for teachers of EAL students (TEAL) for teachers to assess English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners including students from a refugee background, students born in Australia or overseas and fee paying international students.
Abilities Based Learning and Education Support (ABLES) assessment tools for teachers of students with disabilities and additional learning needs. The tool enables teachers to compile a profile of the student's strengths and abilities in the curriculum areas of English and Personal and Social Capability.
Transition Learning and Development Statement (TLDS) for early childhood services to write Transition Learning and Development Statements and share them with schools.
Intercultural Capabilities Digital Assessments for teachers to gain diagnostic information about students' Intercultural Capability knowledge and skills, and to determine an indicative placement against the Intercultural Capability learning continuum F-10. (Please note, these are currently being piloted with a small number of schools before their general release).

Online assessment tools: Digital Assessment Library

The Digital Assessment Library (DAL), offers free, high quality online classroom student assessments, providing teachers with meaningful and timely information about student learning and progress. The DAL includes a range of assessments that can be utilised for different purposes within the classroom and all assessments are reported against the Victorian Curriculum F–10.
